Named after explorer Frederick Courtney Selous, who died here during World War I, the reserve is renowned for its elephants. You’ll also encounter lions, wild dogs, buffaloes, zebras, and more elusive species like bushbuck and greater kudu. Originally a hunting area, Selous teems with wildlife, but animals here are often more cautious than in the northern parks.
