Today, we will journey to Ruaha National Park for an afternoon game drive, immersing ourselves in one of Tanzania’s most extensive ecosystems. Ruaha encompasses the Rungwa Game Reserve, Usangu Game Reserve, and several other protected areas, making it a wildlife haven. The park derives its name from the Great Ruaha River, which flows along its southeastern edge, serving as a focal point for game viewing.
Renowned for its high concentration of elephants, Ruaha is also home to magnificent mammals such as Kudu, Sable, and Roan antelopes, often spotted in the Miombo woodlands. Additionally, the park supports endangered wild dogs, along with a diverse array of wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, elands, impalas, bat-eared foxes, and jackals.
